In this screen, you can set up a new room type or make changes to and existing room type or even delete a room type.  When you first enter this screen, it will default to an existing room type if any have been previously registered.

 
It assumed you are logged in to iBex.

Select Admin | Room Type from the upper menu bar or click the Rooms button at the bottom of the Property screen.

Either select a room type from the Selected Room field to edit the details of an existing room type OR click New button (at bottom of screen) to commence adding another room type.

Complete fields as follows:
 
Selected Property The property this room type belongs to.

Selected Room Will display the name of the selected room type if selected otherwise it will be null if registering a new room type.

Room Type Code Will display the system generated unique room type code if a room type has been selected otherwise it will display “Registering NEW Room Type”.

Date Registered Only displays for a selected room type and shows the registration date.  Does not appear when registering a new room type.

Date of Last Update - Only displays for a selected room type and shows the date of the last update of changes.

Last Update By Only displays for a selected room type and shows the login id of the user that last made a change on this record.

Room Type Name Enter or change the name of this room type.

Short Name Enter a short code for this name for display in width limited screens like the calendar.  If no short name entered, the system will enter the first 8 characters of the full room name.
Room Description self explanatory (this will be displayed on brochure)
Bedding Configuration enter as appropriate (e.g. 1 x King bed OR 2 x single beds, plus rollaway bed if required)
Room Inclusions - enter as appropriate (e.g. telephone, cable TV, iron & ironing board, high speed internet connection, etc)
Maximum Occupancy enter maximum number of persons able to be accommodated in room (excluding infants)

Nbr of Rooms Enter the max number of rooms that are available to be booked from iBex.  This will be used as the maximum allocation available.  If you use iBex as your own booking system and have previously set room units (room numbers) for this room type, then this number will not be editable but set by the number of units you register.  Refer section Room Type Details | Room Units for more information on room units.

On Request Lead Time You can set the number of days within which this room type will always be sold on request (ie. bookings require confirmation).  However, if you always sell on request then you can ignore this field.

Enabled Status set as Inactive or Active as required

Click the Save button.
