In this example the One Bedroom room type has a daily rate with a minimum stay of 1 night, 3 nights and 5 nights.  The rows against each of these minimum stays show the rate value for the arrival date in the date column.  For example, the One Bedroom Daily rate for 1 night min stay is $150 for arrival on say 7 Dec and $130 for the same but for a min stay of 3 nights.

To edit a rate, click on the rate value for the room type, rate name and date accordingly and this will result in the following rates popup:

Rate Schedule The rate schedule this rate refers to (default is Main)

Room Type The room type that this rate refers to

Rate Name The rate name this rate refers to

Change Min Stay From This will be set to the min stay you selected from the calendar but is changeable.  The numbers will be asterisked where you already have a rate defined with this min stay.  If you select a non asterisked number, you will be creating a new min stay record.

To Min Stay Of This will default to the same value as in the previous field but is changeable.  If you select a non asterisked value in the previous field, then this field will disappear as it is no longer relevant.  If you change from the default value, then you are changing the min stay from the value in the previous field to the value in this field for the period set below.

Valid From This is set to the date you selected from the calendar and is not changeable in this screen.

Valid To This defaults to the current valid to date.  If the date is not set or you set a null day value, then this rate setting is or will be indefinite.  Either accept the default of change as required. Your entry must be either null or greater than or equal to the Valid From date.

Rate Values (normal rate) This is where you set the actual rate values for the number of Pax (guests).  The number of pax is set by the max pax of the room type.  There are 3 amount columns Amount1, Amount2 & Amount3.  Amount1 is the primary rate which is used by default.  The other amount columns are optional and only used if you want to assign an agent or registered user to another value for the same rate.  Null and $0 rates are valid.  If you enter a null, then there is no defined value for that number of pax.  If you enter a $0 then this is a free rate.  Enter or adjust the rate value amounts accordingly.

Rate Values (package rates) - If you have Package Rates then you will see Fixed1, Fixed2 & Fixed3 columns preceding the amount columns.  In the fixed columns you enter the total value of the stay over the minimum number of nights.  For example if you had a Stay5/Pay3 package rate, you would enter a min stay of 5 nights and a total value equal to 3 nights stay in this field.  If the guest stays longer than the 5 nights, you would then add the normal nightly rate values into the Amount1, Amount2, & Amount 3 fields which will apply from night 6 onwards.

Delete This button when clicked will NULL all the rate values saving you the need to individually null them if you wish to cancel this rate for the defined period.

Save This button saves your entry or changes.

Example 1

You have a 1 night min stay rate defined over a certain period but want to add a discount if they stayed 3 or more nights.  From the Calendar click on the value of the 1 night min stay for the room type and start date.  The Set Room Rate screen will appear.  Choose 3 in the Change Min Stay From and enter the Valid To date.  Change the rate amount fields to their 3 night values and click  the Save button.

Example 2

You have a 1 night min stay rate defined over a holiday period but want to change this to a 3 night min stay.  From the Calendar click on the value of the 1 night min stay for the room type and start date.  The Set Room Rate screen will appear.  1 will already be in the Change Min Stay From field. Enter 3 in the To Min Stay Of field and enter the Valid To date.  If the rates are not changing then leave these alone and click the Save button.

Example 3

You have a package rate of stay 5 pay 3.  Normally the rate is $100/night.  You must first define this rate in the Manage Rates screen as a package rate by clicking on Yes in the Package Rate? Field.  This will enable the fixed field values to be displayed.  If they stay 5 nights then they will be charged for 3 nights so enter $300 into Fixed1.  However, if they stay longer and the rate is to stay discounted, then enter $60 into Rate1. If however the rate is to return to normal after the 5 night min stay, then enter $100 into Rate1.

To see the effect of your rate change, click the Exit button in the popup which will appear as soon as you click the Save button which will close the popup and refresh the Calendar screen which will display the change accordingly.
