Rate Groups

Within each rate of a Rate Schedule, you have the ability to set 3 different rate groups Rate1, Rate2, and Rate3.

When registering a user, you assign them not only to a Rate Schedule but to a Rate Group as well.

Rate 1 is always the rate group you will use for yourself and will be the default value that your agents or wholesalers use unless they have been assigned to another rate value.  For example, you have a rate called Daily which you sell via your web site for $120/night, you may have it available to agents for $130/night in rate 2 and it may be a nett rate of $90/night for wholesalers in rate 3.

You can make a rate name unavailable to a particular rate group without defining a separate Rate Schedule simply by setting the value of the rate to null (not $0 - as $0 will mean the rate is free!).

For example, say you have a special internet rate of $89/night but this is not available for agents.  Assuming your agents are assigned to Rate 2, set $89 in rate 1 and null or no entry in Rate 2.  If a rate group is not used, simply leave the values set to null.
