The Otago Central Hotel at Hyde is the ideal resting place and accommodation stop while on the Otago Rail Trail.

At the Hyde Hotel there's no public bar but there is one of the best licensed cafes on the Rail Trail.

The hotel's original accommodation offers four double rooms with ensuites, two doubles with shared facilities and two 'boutique' suites, one of which boasts a gorgeous claw foot bath. Thanks to Ngaire's lifelong interest in collecting antique furniture every room is decorated with impeccable style.

Where budget is more an issue, clean and comfortable bunkroom accommodation is well served with showers and toilets. Linen supplied.

What was once the hotel's bar is now a large lounge area with loads of chairs and sofas so guests can choose privacy or mix with others to share their Rail Trail experiences.

Evening meals are provided. Food and refreshment is also available in the café attached to the hotel. The café is generally closed from early June to September.
